About Mark

Mark BrooksbankMark Brooksbank is a former NHS musculoskeletal (MSK) podiatric Clinician who now works in private healthcare, having over 20 years experience in this field, working in both the UK and abroad.

He is a non-medical prescriber, he is a holder of the certificate in foot and ankle ultrasound from Bournemouth University/Anglo-European College of Chiropractic and Ultrasound (CASE accredited).

He is one of only few podiatrists to have recently completed his theory and practical training for skin surgery provided by the Royal College of Podiatry and already performs a number of procedures requiring anesthesia such as verrucae needling and nail surgery.

On a daily basis he assesses and manages complex MSK cases utilising all manner of imaging, performs diagnostic ultrasound and guided injections, bespoke braces and other forms of management including custom made orthotics.

He has introduced shockwave therapy into the clinic where he works and used this on hundreds of patients and fully understands its use and limitations.

Mark believes in delivery of excellent care, following recognised guidelines or evidence based protocols. He is qualified to Masters level having completed the MSc in Podiatry with focus on lower limb biomechanics at Huddersfield (merit for dissertation and overall).

Mark has mentored colleagues in diagnostic ultrasound/diagnostic injections. He has also written publications nationally and internationally and has lectured GPs and other allied professionals on compications of the foot and appropriate referral pathways for common foot issues.
